Apple releases update to block jailbreak 📱📵
Updating your software closes the vulnerability found in Apple's iOS operating system that made the latest jailbreak possible.

Apple has just released a software update that fixes a vulnerability that let hackers build a jailbreak, giving them deep access to the iPhone's software.
In a note on its website, the company confirmed today that it has fixed the vulnerability in iOS 13.5.1. The tech giant credited the unc0ver team, which released the jailbreak last week after finding the security flaw.
Although the details of the security breach have not yet been fully made public, Apple usually moves very quickly to fix any problem of this kind, both to stop jailbreaks being built and because it fears they could be used by malicious hackers.

On Twitter, one of the leading jailbreakers confirmed that updating to iOS 13.5.1 closes the vulnerability for good and makes the jailbreak completely useless.
What is it?
Jailbreaking is a hugely popular way for users to break out of Apple's "jail" (hence the name) and get very deep access to the iPhone's operating system. Apple obviously tries to prevent this, to make its devices more secure and to keep the area hackers can attack in the software as small as possible.
Jailbreakers, for their part, say that breaking through these restrictions lets them customise their iPhones further, in a way most Android users are more used to.
Security experts are usually against this kind of practice, as it can expose the iPhone's owner to all sorts of attacks. At the same time, they always advise installing updates as soon as they are available.
Apple also confirms that iOS 13.5.1 brings a new Memoji pack, as well as fixing some bugs and making minor improvements to the system.
